Award under Public Sector Banks category

Bank of Baroda has been conferred – winner of ASSOCHAM Social Banking Excellence Award under the category of Public Sector Banks by an independent jury headed by Hon’ble Mr. Justice A. M. Ahmadi, Former Chief Justice of India. This is in recognition of the significant initiatives being undertaken by the Bank in social banking sphere.

Bank of Baroda awarded the first prize under Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Shield
Competition

Bank of Baroda was conferred upon the first prize under Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Shield Competition for the year 2011-12 for its outstanding performance in O.L. Implementation. Shri S.S. Mundra, Chairman and Managing Director of the Bank received the award trophy from Honorable President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee in the gracious presence of Minister of State for Home Shri M. Ramchandran and Shir R.P.N Singh, at an exclusive award function held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on the occasion of Hindi Diwas 2013. Shri Arun Kumar Jain, Secretary & Smt Poonam Juneja, Joint Secretary of Deptt. of Official Language, Home Ministry, Govt. of India were also present on the occasion.

Technology Excellence Awards 2012-13

Bank of Baroda was conferred Special Award for Best IT Team among Public Sector Banks at IDRBT Banking Technology Excellence Awards 2012-13.

Bank of Baroda conferred the Best Public Sector Bank at Dun & Bradstreet – Polaris
Financial Technology Banking Awards 2013

Bank of Baroda was conferred the Best Public Sector Bank under the category Global Business Development at Dun & Bradstreet – Polaris Financial Technology Banking Awards 2013.

Bank of Baroda Receives Award for Excellence in Financial Reporting

Financial report of an enterprise is arguably the most important medium of dissemination of such information. Bank of Baroda has strongly believed in providing meaningful financial information to the stakeholders. The efforts of the Bank was recognized by ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India) by conferring award for ‘Excellence in Financial Reporting,’ under the public sector category, in a glittering function held at Chennai.

The ICAI awards for Excellence in Financial Reporting recognize and encourage excellence in the preparation and presentation of financial reporting.

Bank of Baroda won 2 awards at The Sunday Standard FINWIZ 2012 in the following category:

  • Best Indian Bank – Large (Runner up)

Bank of Baroda was awarded the Best Bank Award for the year 2012 by Business India magazine. Bank of Baroda has won this award second time in 3 years, the first Bank to do so, since the inception of awards.

Bank of Baroda bags the prestigious ‘Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Shield’

Bank of Baroda reached to the pinnacle of success regarding use of Hindi during the year 2011-12.  The Bank received the most prestigious award ‘First Prize in Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Shield Competition’ from Hon’ble President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee at a function held on 14.09.2012 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. The award was received by Shri S.K.Jain, Executive Director of the Bank.  Along-with the said award Bank’s In-house Hindi Magazine ‘Akshayyam’ was also awarded with the 2nd prize in the Hindi House-journal Competition.  Shri S.K.Ahuja, General Manager, Northern Zone received this award from Hon’ble President of India.

Bank of Baroda bags 4 prizes from R.B.I.

Bank of Baroda bags 4 prizes in R.B.I. Shield competition 2010-11 viz. 1st prize in ‘A’ Region and IInd prize in ‘B’ and ‘C’ Regions.  Besides these awards, Bank’s House Magazine ‘BOBMAITRI’ got the fourth prize in the House Journal competition.

Bloomberg UTV Financial Leadership Awards – Best PSU Bank Award

Bank of Baroda was awarded the ‘Best PSU Bank’ in the 2nd edition of Bloomberg UTV Financial Leadership Awards. Shri M D Mallya, Chairman & Managing Director – Bank of Baroda, received the award from Hon’ble Finance Minister, Shri Pranab Mukherjee.

Bloomberg UTV Financial Leadership Awards have been instituted to acknowledge extraordinary contribution of India’s financial leaders and visionaries. The winners have been selected by an eminent Jury on the basis of a detailed methodology, process validation and research conducted by ICRA.

The theme award recognizes the Bank’s contribution to reach multiple segments of industry and the general population, increasing the reach of formal banking. Bank of Baroda receives Skoch Award

Bank of Baroda has received Financial Inclusion Award 2011 instituted by Skoch Consultancy Services Pvt. Ltd. The award has been given to the bank for an endeavour to tap the potential asset of unskilled unemployed youth of India to impart them training by setting up Baroda Swarojgar Vikas Sansthan (BSVS) - Baroda R-SETI Centres. Since inception, the BSVS has conducted 1481 training programs, in which 40,477 youth have been trained out of which 23,633 are today self-employed. In addition, the Bank has set up 52 Baroda Grameen Paramarsh Kendras to reach all sections of the society. The award was received by Shri N.S. Srinath, Executive Director of Bank of Baroda at a function held in New Delhi at the hands of Dr. K.C. Chakraborty, Dy. Governor, Reserve Bank of India. Dr Deepak B. Phatak, Director of the bank was also present on the occasion.

Bank of Baroda has been awarded with the "Bank of Year 2010 - India" in The Banker Awards 2010 of "The Banker" Magazine, UK. The award was received by Shri K.D. Lamba, Chief Executive (European Operations) in an award ceremony held at the Intercontinental Hotel, Park Lane, London. The award function was attended by the representatives from various Banks across the world from about 125 countries.

The award has been given for the Bank’s contribution towards agriculture and rural development and its aim to serve the common man achieving 100% financial inclusion in 21 of 44 districts where it is the lead bank. The Bank has adopted 101 villages for integrated development. Baroda Grameen Paramarsh Kendras, an initiative to help the rural community by providing rural counselling, financial literacy and other services, are now operational in 52 centres.

Bank of Baroda has been conferred “Bank of the year” Award at India Leadership Conclave held in Delhi. The Award was received by Shri M.D. Mallya, Chairman & Managing Director of the Bank at the hands of Shri. Jaipal Reddy, Hon’ble Union Minister for Urban Development in the presence of over 200 CEOs and other dignitaries present on the occasion.

Leadership Conclave was organized by Wockhardt Foundation, an NGO which also confers awards recognizing the services rendered by the Banks and other corporate entities to the society. The Award signifies outstanding performance of the Bank during the year 2008-09 and its imprint in the society as a service organization.

 Bank awarded for its "Global Business Development"
Bank has won award for the leading Public Sector Bank in “Global Business Development” category at the Dun & Bradstreet Banking Awards 2009, held in Mumbai, on wednesday 18th February 2009.

 Mookerjee gets The Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhawana Award.
Mr. Dipankar Mookerjee, General Manager (HR & Marketing) and Chief Brand Custodian of Bank of Baroda was awarded The Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhawana Award for the year 2008 for his outstanding performance and best services in Banking Sector in the area of Marketing. The Award was given by The Rajiv Gandhi Forum, Orissa, affiliated to The Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, New Delhi.

Mr. Mookerjee also successfully led the rebranding exercise of Bank of Baroda, the first such effort by any PSU bank in the country.

 Bank of Baroda bags three Awards of ABCI for the year 2008

Association of Business Communicators of India gives awards every year in various categories of Business Communication. Bank of Baroda got the silver trophy in the categories of Corporate Film and Quarterly Economic Review and a Bronze trophy for Bilingual Internal Magazine. The Awards were received by Shri. Nandan Srivastava, General Manager, Dr. Rupa Nitsure, Chief Economist of the Bank and Smt. Usha Ananthasubramanian, Dy. General Manager along with team members in an award function held in Mumbai on 7th November 2008.

 Lifetime Achievement Award to Dr Anil K. Khandelwal, Chairman & Managing Director, Bank of Baroda
Dr. Anil K. Khandelwal, Chairman and Managing Director, Bank of Baroda was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the field of Human Resources Management by the Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD) at its Western Regional Conference held at Baroda on 4th of January' 2008.

Mr. Dipankar Mookerjee, General Manager (HR & Mktg.) of Bank of Baroda received the award on behalf of Dr. Khandelwal at the hands of Her Highness Mrinalini Devi Puar, Chancellor of M.S. University, Vadodara.

Dr. Khandelwal is an eminent banker with a large part of his experience devoted to handling Human Resources Development issues of Banks and Bank employees. He is a multi-awarded personality and has received many awards like Best HRD Chief from National HRD Network (India), the Grid Leadership Award for Excellence in Corporate Management, AMITY Leadership Award for Sectoral excellence in Banking by Amity Business School, Award for Change management by SKOCH, etc. to name a few. The Economic Times has listed him in its list of "100 Most Powerful CEOs in India" for successive two years.

 Bank of Baroda awarded the Outlook Money NDTV Profit Awards 2007.
"The Outlook Money NDTV Profit Awards 2007" were announced in the Outlook Money Summit held at Mumbai on the 26th October'2007.

Bank of Baroda was awarded the Outlook Money NDTV Profit Awards 2007 under the following two categories :

  • Best Bank in Home Loan category (Amongst all Banks)
  • Runners-up for Best Bank Award (Public Sector category)

    The Awards were received on behalf of the Bank by Dr. Anil K. Khandelwal, Chairman and Managing Director, Bank of Baroda from Shri Jairam Ramesh, Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Commerce.

     SKOCH Challenger Award for Change Management
    Dr.Anil K.Khandelwal, Chairman and Managing Director, Bank of Baroda was awarded the SKOCH Challenger Award for Change Management at the 5th Annual SKOCH summit held in New Delhi on March 16, 2007.

    Dr. C. Rangarajan, Chairman Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of India presented the award to Dr.Anil K.Khandelwal.

    The SKOCH Challenger Awards are independently instituted by SKOCH Consultancy services and adjudged to salute best practices.

    Dr.Anil K.Khandelwal, Chairman and Managing Director, was awarded the SKOCH Challenger Award for Change Management in recognition of the multifarious change initiatives unleashed by him in the Bank, which not only changed the Bank’s logo and its outlook but also infused a new dynamism in the Bank and changed the very way the Bank functions.

     IMC Ramakrishna Bajaj National Quality Award
    Bank of Baroda was awarded the IMC Ramakrishna Bajaj National Quality Award 2006, certificate of merit in the service category at a function in Mumbai on March 14,2007

    IMC Ramakrishna Bajaj National Quality Award Criteria instituted since 1996, have been used by hundreds of Indian organizations to stay abreast of ever-increasing competition and to improve performance. The Criteria emphasize: openness and transparency in governance and ethics; the need to create value for customers and the business; and the challenges of rapid innovation and capitalizing on knowledge assets.

    The IMC Quality Awards Committee subjects the Award applicants to a stringent evaluation, short listing and review process through the IMC Quality Cell and a Board of Examiners consisting of quality experts and senior managers from industry, academia, healthcare and consulting organizations.

    Bank of Baroda was declared winner of the prestigious SMIA 2007 award in the Marketing Effectiveness Conclave conducted by S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) on Feb 10, 2007.

    SPJIMR is rated among the top ten Business schools in the country. The institute presents SPJIMR Marketing Impact awards (SMIA) for innovative marketing initiatives that have created significant impact for the organization and the industry.

    The SMIA awards are based on papers submitted by corporates/NGOs on best practices demonstrating marketing impact and effectiveness. The papers /case studies are based on marketing initiatives taken by the organization to successfully solve a business problem or to exploit a market opportunity. Shortlisted Entries for SMIA 2007 were from ITC, Bank of Baroda, HCL and Akanksha Art Workshops.

     The Employer Branding Awards 2007
    The Employer Branding Awards 2007 for excellence in Human Resources was awarded on January 13,2007 to Bank of Baroda in the category of Managing Health at Work.

    The Employer Branding Awards 2007 for excellence in Human Resources have been instituted by the Star of the Industry Awards Foundation in association with Indiatimes and ITM Business School.

    These awards are given to India’s best employers for excellence in various HR areas like Talent Management, HR Strategy, Application of IT in HR, Innovation in recruitment, Innovation in retention strategy, Career development, Managing health of employees and Global HR Strategy.

    The ABCI is an esteemed organisation constituted by business communication professionals and experts from elite corporate companies for the purpose of encouraging professionals in communication and for upgrading knowledge and skills in the area. In this pursuit, ABCI has instituted awards for various forms of communication.

    Elite Category Award for "Excellence in Marketing and Brand Communication" 2005:

    Bank of Baroda won the prestigious "Elite Category Award" for "Excellence in Marketing and Brand Communication" for 2005 for Bank’s pioneering re-branding exercise and brand communication, among stiff competition from private sector corporates, banks, PSUs. This is a special award given by ABCI to organizations for their excellence in brand and marketing communication.
