We are looking for young, qualified, mobile and active minds who can be inducted into Bank of Baroda as Probationary Officers in Junior Management Grade / Scale-I after imparting them with the necessary knowledge and skills required to be good all-round bankers through the 1 year Post Graduate Diploma in Banking and Finance course in Baroda Manipal School of Banking.

Bank of Baroda invites young, bright graduates or students in the final year of their graduation who fulfill the eligibility criteria specified and who are interested in a Banking career with one of India’s largest Banks to apply for admissions to the 1 year full-time post graduate diploma course in Banking and Finance from Manipal University to be conducted at the Baroda Manipal school of Banking, and which comes with the assurance of a full-fledged Banking career with Bank of Baroda on successful completion of the course.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AND GENERAL INFORMATION

  1. Qualification (As on 01.07.2011)

    Degree in any discipline from a recognized University

    OR

    Any equivalent qualification recognized by Central Government.

    Students appearing in final year degree exams can also apply subject to their submitting their Final Degree Mark sheet & Provisional Certificate on or before 01.07.2011.

    1. Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe candidates by 5 years
    2. Other Backward Classes candidates by 3 years
    3. In the case of Ex-servicemen and Commissioned Officers including ECOs/ SSCOs who have rendered at least 5 years military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within the next one year from the last date for receipt of application) other than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or on account of physical disability attributable to military service or on being declared as invalid, by 5 years for selection through written test & interview, subject to ceiling, as per Govt. Guidelines.
    4. All persons who have ordinarily been domiciled in Kashmir Division of J & K State during 01.01.1980 and 31.12.1989 by 5 years
    5. For Persons with Disability by 10 years which by cumulation becomes (a) by 15 years for SC/ST (b) by 13 years for OBC and (c) by 10 years for General.

      Note:
      1. An ex-serviceman, who has once joined a Government job on the civil side after availing the benefits given to him as Ex-serviceman for his re-employment including a job in Public Sector undertaking, ceases to enjoy ex-serviceman status for his further employment.
      2. The relaxation in upper age limit is cumulative, as per the Government Guidelines.
      3. All Persons eligible for age relaxation under para 4B (d) above must produce the domicile certificate at the time of interview from the District Magistrate in the Kashmir Division within whose jurisdiction he/she had ordinarily resided or any other authority designated, in this regard by Government of J & K to the effect that the candidate had ordinarily been domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the State of J&K during 1st January 1980 and 31st December 1989.
  1. Nationality/Citizenship:-

    A candidate must be either i) a Citizen of India or ii) a subject of Nepal or iii) subject of Bhutan or iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination/ interview conducted by the Bank but on final selection, the offer of appointment may be given only after the Government of India has issued the necessary eligibility certificate to him.
  1. Persons with Disabilities :-
    1. Only those OH persons who have locomotor disability or cerebral palsy with locomotor impairment of minimum of 40% and only those who fall in the following categories are eligible to apply under OH category :-

      BL - Both legs affected but not arms
      OA - One arm affected (R or L)
      1. Impaired reach
      2. Weakness of grip
      3. Ataxia

    CL - One leg affected (R or L)
    MW - Muscular weakness and limited physical endurance

    1. Only those Visually handicapped persons who suffer from any one of the following conditions are eligible to apply under VH category:-

      • Total absence of sight
      • Visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/200 (Snellen) in the better eye with correcting lenses
      • Limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle or 20 degrees or worse.
      • Candidates having low vision, as defined in Chapter 1, Para 2(u) of the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of rights and full participation) Act, 1995.

    2. At the time of written examination, only blind/ low vision candidates and those candidates whose writing speed is affected by cerebral palsy can use own scribe/ writer at his/ her own cost. In all such cases, where a scribe/ writer is used, the following rules will apply :-
      • The candidate will have to arrange his/ her own scribe/ writer at his/ her own cost.
      • The academic qualification of the scribe should be one grade lower than the stipulated eligibility criteria.
      • Scribe/ writer should be one possessing 60% or less marks.
      • Scribe/ writer can be from any academic discipline.
      • Both, the candidate as well as the scribe/ writer will have to give a suitable undertaking, confirming that the scribe fulfills all the stipulated eligibility criteria for a scribe, as mentioned above. Further, in case it later transpires that he/she did not fulfill any of the laid-down eligibility criteria or suppressed material facts, the candidature of the applicant will stand cancelled, irrespective of the result of the written test.
      • Only those candidates who use a Scribe/ Writer shall be eligible for extra time of 20 minutes and/ or part thereof for every hour of the examination.
    1. It is clarified that Persons with Disabilities on absorption in the Bank after their successful completion of the course will have to work in branches/ offices.
  1. THE COMPETENT AUTHORITY FOR THE ISSUE OF THE CERTIFICATE TO SC/ST/OBC/PWD IS AS UNDER :-
    1. For SC/ST/OBC

      • District Magistrate/ Additional Dist. Magistrate/ Collector/ Deputy Commissioner/Additional Dy. Commissioner/ Dy. Collector/ First Class Stipendiary Magistrate/Sub-Division Magistrate/ Taluka Magistrate/ Executive Magistrate/ Extra Assistant Commissioner
      • Chief Presidency Magistrate/ Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate/ Presidency Magistrate
      • Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tahsildar
      • Sub-Divisional Officer of the area where the candidate and/or his family normally resides
    1. For Persons with Disability :-

      • Authorised Certifying Authority will be a Medical Board duly constituted by the Central/ State Government having at least 3 members consisting of Chief Medical Officer, Sub-Divisional Medical Officer in the District and an Orthopedic Surgeon, Ophthalmology Surgeon, ENT Surgeon, as the case may be.

HOW TO APPLY

  1. Candidates are required to apply online through the website www.barodamanipalschoolofbanking.com and click on the link for online application form and proceed to fill up the form online. 

    Alternatively, candidates can log onto the Baroda Manipal school of Banking link in the careers page of the Bank’s website www.bankofbaroda.com

    Under the link of Baroda Manipal school of Banking and further under the sub-head, ‘ADMISSIONS’, click on the link “APPLY HERE” and you will be redirected to the website www.barodamanipalschoolofbanking.com, where you can find the online application form.

  2. No other means/ mode of application will be accepted.

  3. Candidates are required to have a valid personal email ID. It should be kept active during the currency of this recruitment project. Under no circumstances, he/she should share/ mention his / her email ID to/ or of any other person.

  4.  In case, a candidate does not have a valid personal email ID, he/she should create his/ her new email ID before applying Online.

  5. Applicants may visit the Bank's website www.bankofbaroda.com and open the link 'www.barodamanipalschoolofbanking.com' from the Careers Page or directly access this website after having read / gone through the programme details / highlights / terms and conditions and general guidelines governing this course.

  6. Application fees: The amount of application fees to be paid is indicated below :

    Application once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and fees once paid will NOT be refunded on any count nor can it be held in reserve for any other examination or selection.

  7. The applicants will have 2 modes for payment  of fees as follows:

    1. Online mode: Fees can be paid through Debit or Credit card. A Transaction ID will be generated for the same and an online fee receipt will be generated, a print-out of which the applicant must take and keep for further use as proof of having made the payment. The same will be required to be produced at the time of the online examination.

    2. Offline mode: The candidate can take a print of the 'FEES PAYMENT CHALLAN'. Fill in the Fee Payment Challan in a clear and legible handwriting in BLOCK LETTERS. Go to the nearest Bank of Baroda Branch with the Fee Payment Challan duly filled in and pay in Cash, the appropriate Application Fee in Account No 29040200000216 with Bandra Kurla Complex Branch, Mumbai, in favour of “BANK OF BARODA- SELECTION FOR ADMISSION TO BARODA MANIPAL SCHOOL OF   BANKING”. Obtain the Counterfoil (Applicant's Copy) of the Fee Payment Challan duly received by the Bank with (a) Branch Name & Code Number (b) Transaction ID (c) Date of Deposit & Amount filled by the Branch Official. Candidates can now continue with their online application by re-visiting the website 'www.barodamanipalschoolofbanking.com' and opening the appropriate Online Application Format with their user id and password, generated earlier. Carefully fill in the necessary details from the Fee Payment Challan in the Online Application Form at the appropriate places and submit the same Online.

    3. The original counterfoil of the fee payment challan or the print-out of the online fee payment receipt will have to be submitted with the Call Letter at the time of online aptitude test, without which the candidate will not be allowed to appear in the test. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep 3 photocopies of the fee payment challan / online fee payment receipt for future use.

    4. Fees deposited after the last date i.e. 16.05.2011 will not be entertained by the Bank.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR CANDIDATES

  1. Candidates are required to apply only 'ONLINE'. Any other form of application shall be rejected.

  2. Before applying, the candidate should ensure that he/she fulfils the eligibility and other norms mentioned in this advertisement. Decision of the Bank in all matters regarding eligibility of the candidate, the stages at which such scrutiny of eligibility is to be undertaken, the documents to be produced for the purpose at the time of conduct of examination, interview, selection and any other matter relating to recruitment will be final and binding on the candidate. No correspondence or personal enquiries will be entertained by the bank in this behalf.

  3. The name of the candidate or his/ her father/ husband etc should be spelt correctly in the application as it appears in the certificates/ mark sheets. Any change/ alteration found may disqualify the candidature.

  4. In case, it is detected at any stage of recruitment that a candidate does not fulfill the eligibility norms and/or that he/she has furnished any incorrect/false information/certificate/documents or has suppressed any material fact(s), his/her candidature will stand cancelled. If any of these shortcoming/s is/are detected even after admission / appointment, his/ her admission / services are liable to be terminated.

  5. Self attested photocopy of the Graduation degree/ Mark sheet indicating 'Pass' and other educational testimonials should be kept ready for submission at the time of GD/Interview. In addition, candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD category are required to submit an attested copy of their Caste Certificate/ Certificate of Disability issued by the Competent Authority as specified in Para 4E (a) & (b) at the time of Interview. However, all candidates will have to produce original as well as self attested photocopies of certificates regarding qualification, experience, date of birth and caste (if applicable), in support of their eligibility at the time of interview, failing which their candidature will be cancelled.

  6. In case of candidates belonging to OBC category, the certificate inter alia must specify that the candidates do not belong to 'CREAMY LAYER' section. Candidates belonging to Creamy Layer will be excluded from the benefits of reservations for OBCs in Civil Post and Services under Govt. of India. OBC certificate should not be more than one year old as on the date of application. Candidates belonging to OBC category but coming in the 'CREAMY LAYER', are not entitled to OBC reservation and age relaxation. Such candidates should indicate their category as 'GEN' or 'GEN (OH)' or 'GEN (VH)' or 'GEN (HI)', GEN (XS) as the case may be.

  7. The candidates will have to appear for the Online Aptitude Test and Interview at their own expense. However, eligible SC/ST/PWD outstation candidates attending the Interview will be reimbursed to and fro second-class ordinary train/ bus fare by the shortest route on production of evidence of travel.

  8. Any resultant dispute arising out of this advertisement shall be subject to the sole jurisdiction of the Courts situated at Mumbai.

  9. The Bank takes no responsibility to connect any Certificate/ Remittance separately.

  10. In case any dispute arises on account of interpretation of any version other than English, English version will prevail and the version displayed on website shall be final.

  11. No candidate is permitted to use calculator, telephones, mobiles or any such other instrument during the Online examinations/ selection process.

  12. The candidates will appear for the Online examination at the allotted centres at their expense and risks and the Bank will not be responsible for any injury/ losses etc, of any nature.

  13. The Bank, may at its discretion, hold re-examination, wherever necessary, in respect of a centre/ venue.

  14. Admission of any candidate to the Baroda Manipal school of Banking, if declared successful in the selection process is subject to his/ her being declared medically fit by the Medical Officer approved by the Bank as per the requirement of the Bank.

  15. Admission to Online examination and further process of selection will be purely provisional without verification of age/ qualification/ category (SC/ST/PWD) etc. of the candidates with reference to documents.

  16. Candidates uploading more than one application for any reason will be treated as ineligible.

  17. As the applications are to be processed by a computerized system, it is essential that the application is filled online, duly completed in all respects and all fields duly filled up.

  18. CANVASSING IN ANY FORM WILL BE A DISQUALIFICATION.

  19. Action to be taken against candidates found guilty of misconduct.
    Candidates are advised in their own interest that they should not furnish any particulars that are false, tampered, fabricated or should not suppress any material information while filling up the Online application.

    At the time of the online examination/ interview, if a candidate is (or has been) found guilty of,
    1. Using unfair means during the examination OR
    2. Impersonating or procuring impersonation by any person OR
    3. Misbehaving in the examination hall OR
    4. Resorting to any irregular or improper means in connection with his/ her candidature by selection OR
    5. Obtaining support for his/ her candidature by any means.

Such a candidate in addition to rendering himself/ herself liable to criminal prosecution shall be liable:

    1. To be disqualified from the examination for which he/ she is a candidate
    2. To be debarred, either permanently or for a specified period, from any examination or recruitment conducted by the Bank.

 SELECTION PROCESS

Candidates shall be selected by BOB through a selection process consisting of an open online exam followed by Group Discussion / Interview.
 
The selection process aims at getting applicants who are likely to succeed at various roles in the Bank. The endeavour is to select people who are bright, have good communication skills (both oral and written), are dedicated, can work effectively in teams, are passionate about their career goals and who display integrity and a positive attitude.

Online Aptitude test:

The online aptitude test will be for duration of 2 hours and shall comprise of the following tests, with a sufficiently high degree of difficulty:

  • Logical aptitude / reasoning
  • Quantitative / numerical aptitude
  • English language
  • General Awareness

Wrong answers will attract negative marks for the online test. Along with the call letters, a sample test shall also be uploaded on the site which candidates can take to familiarize themselves with the nature of Test & Questions.
 
 The Bank reserves the right, if required, to hold a second stage of Online test on the basis of order of merit in the Online examination of first stage, as referred above. If the second stage of written test is held, the subsequent process of GD and interview and further process would be on the basis of order of merit of the second stage examination.

Group Discussion and Personal Interview
All applicants who qualify in the online aptitude test in the order of ranking as per the cut-off marks determined by the Bank shall be called for an interview and group discussion and the decision of the Bank, in this regard shall be final. The group discussion and interview round will be the final step in the selection process.

The final merit list for selection will be on the basis of performance in Online Test, Group discussion (GD) and Interview.

NOTE

  • NO request for change of Centre of Examination shall be entertained in any case.
  • Bank reserves the right to cancel any of the centres and/ or add some other centres, depending upon the response, administrative feasibility etc. Bank also reserves the right to allot the candidate to any of the centres other than the one he/ she has opted for.
  • The candidate will be required to give 2 choice of preference of centre, in order of preference. It will be endeavoured to give you a test venue in one of the centres opted by you in order of preference; however, the Bank cannot guarantee the same. The venue and centre allocated to the candidate will be mentioned in the call letter and the same will be final, no change being permissible in the centre or venue, once allocated.
  • The dates for the subsequent processes of interview / GDs will be announced at a later date for which successful candidates will get an e-mail/SMS, downloadable call letter.

Call letters for the online examination:-

The dates of the Online Examination are TENTATIVELY FIXED from 28.05.2011 to 06.06.2011. However, the exact date and time of the examination will be intimated in the Call Letter along with the Centre/Venue for the Examination, well in advance of the date of the Examination.

The Candidates should note that the entire selection procedure will be Online and that all the instructions/ intimations will be provided on the Bank’s website. The candidates are requested to check the website for the same from time to time for important dates and notifications.

Decision of the Bank in respect of all matters pertaining to this admission process would be final & binding on all candidates.

PROGRAMME FEES

The fees for this Course will be Rs. 3/- lakhs (all inclusive of boarding, Lodging and course fees, other fees, etc.) plus service taxes, as applicable to be paid by the student.

 

FINANCING / LOAN OPTIONS

Students can finance the course fees by availing an Education Loan which will be granted by Bank of Baroda at a highly concessional rate of interest of 8% p.a . Students can therefore obtain a high quality specialized course in Banking and finance without any monetary burden on them and fully financed by the Bank.

The EMIs for the loan would start once the POs have joined the bank. There would be no recovery of EMIs or interest during the training period and the interest accrued during this period would be recovered along with the normal EMIs. The EMIs are spread over a period of 84 months (7 years) to ensure that there is minimal impact in the monthly earnings of the PO.

  • 05.07.2011- Baroda Manipal School of Banking - Results of online exam uploaded. Results of online exam for admission to Baroda Manipal School of Banking declared. Candidates can check their individual results from the website, www.barodamanipalschoolofbanking.com by clicking on the “Online Exam Result” icon in the menu and enter their Registration no. and Date of Birth in the password column to see their results.” Candidates found eligible for the next round of Group Discussions and Interviews can download their interview call letters from the website itself.
