"Bank of Baroda was one of the early movers in Public Sector Banks to have tapped the equity market in December 1996. Further the Bank has come out with a "Follow on Public Offer" of 71 million equity shares in January 2006. With the approval of the shareholders at the EGM held on 29.03.2011, Bank issued and allotted 2,72,79,579 equity shares to Government of India on preferential basis in terms of SEBI (Issue of Capital & Disclosure Requirements) Regulations 2009. Today out of the total equity capital of Rs.391.55 crore, the "Public Shareholding" is as large as 42.97%, which is held by Retail Investors, Employees, Banks and Financial Institutions, FIIs and OCBs, Mutual Funds, Insurance Companies and Others."
