Bank of Baroda notifies stock exchanges about strike on Jul 13
Bank of Baroda have been announced by Indian Banks' Association that the general secretary of All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) and All India Bank Officers Association (AIBOA) has given a strike notice dated Jun. 22, 2016 stating that the members affiliated to their association would observe a one day strike on Jul. 13, 2016 on various issues and demands.
Impact on Bank's Operations:
"AIBEA has affiliation with AIBOBECC, a workmen union in our Bank and has around 30% membership of the total strength of Clerks & Sub-staff while as per records 176 Employees ore affiliated to AIBOA.
The Associations hove membership spread majorly in the states of Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Tamilnadu, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Telangana and Delhi.
In the event of AIBEA and AIBOA proceeding on strike on Jul. 13, 2016, the functioning of the Branches in these States will be affected.''
The bank is taking all the necessary steps in terms of the existing guidelines for smooth functioning of bank's branches/offices on the day of strike, in the event the strike materializes on Jul. 13, 2015.
Shares of the bank gained Rs 0.85, or 0.55%, to trade at Rs 154.75. The total volume of shares traded was 338,559 at the BSE (2.52 p.m., Thursday).
